Despite its move to Shopify, Bentley’s eCommerce platform encountered several obstacles:
- Technical Limitations: Legacy components and inefficient apps restricted access to Shopify Plus’s native features, impacting scalability and innovation.
- Limited Omnichannel Capabilities: Features such as Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store (BOPIS) and ship-from-store were not fully implemented, limiting fulfillment flexibility.
- Lack of Inventory Transparency: Customers and store associates struggled with incomplete real-time inventory visibility, affecting both sales and customer trust.
- Outdated Customer Experience: The design lacked modern eCommerce standards, delivering a less engaging and intuitive shopping journey.
- POS Integration Data: During the transition to Shopify POS, Bentley required access to historical transaction data from their old POS system to maintain operations.
